Classic rock is just that-classic rock. It is rock-n-roll music from previous years like the 1950′s, 1960′s, 1970′s and the 1980′s. It is awesome rock with an edge to it. Classic rock is a rock music that people still listen to and have listened to for many years.

Certain classic rock bands and artists include The Rolling Stones who began in 1962, Led Zeppelin who ran from 1968 to 1980, AC/DC who started in Australia in 1973, Def Leppard who started in England in 1977, The Doors who began in Los Angeles in 1965, The Eagles who started in 1971, and much more.I found some more information here.

The Rolling Stones actually began as a blue’s band and then became very successful when they started rocking it out. By the middle of the 1960′s, The Rolling Stones were second to The Beatles. One of the reasons they became so successful was because they were willing to use instruments that had never before been used by other rock bands. Mick Jagger and Keith Richards were two classmates who started The Rolling Stones.

AC/DC started in Australia in 1973 and released their first album, High Voltage in 1975. The band was formed by two brothers Angus Young and Malcolm Young. They were born in Scotland. They were eventually joined in 1975 by their older brother George Young who started out in another band called The Easybeats in the 60′s.

The Eagle’s started in 1971 when they were back up singers for Linda Ronstadt when they later decided to create their own rock band. They were inducted in the Rock-N-Roll Hall of Fame in 1998 and The Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2001. They released 6 recorded albums and 9 live albums between the years of 1972-2003. They released 21 singles in which all of them made the U.S singles charts. They broke up in 1980 but got back together in 2004 for a live album and a tour. They still tour together every once in a while and their last album, The Long Road Out of Eden, was released in 2007.
